Two days in the valleys of St. Catherine: easy hiking, a Bedouin house, a natural pool, a simsimiyya night and a sky full of stars.
Leave Dahab at sunrise and spend two days in the mountains of St. Catherine with Moussa, a licensed guide with 15 years on these trails.
DAY 1 Meet at Sinai Market in Dahab at 7:00 AM, then leave at 7:30 AM with an Egyptian breakfast sandwich on the way. Arrive at Fox Camp for a short rest and Bedouin hospitality before starting an easy-to-moderate hike through Wadi Tlah. Reach the Bedouin house around midday, slow down, have a Bedouin lunch, try traditional dress, then take a silent walk through the valley at golden hour. In the evening, enjoy a live simsimiyya gathering and stargazing far from city lights.
DAY 2 Start with breakfast, then head to a natural rock pool. Begin the walk back through the valleys, stop for lunch, take a short rock-scrambling session, return to Fox Camp, and head back to Dahab in the evening.
LEVEL Easy to moderate. Beginners are welcome. Minimum age: 15.
GROUP 4 to 10 guests. The trip runs whenever a group of 4 or more is ready.
PRICE $200 per person. Egyptian residents can pay the equivalent in EGP.
INCLUDED Transport from and to Dahab, licensed guide, water, breakfast, lunch, Bedouin hospitality, and an overnight stay in a room.
WHAT TO BRING Comfortable shoes, hat, sunscreen, light jacket, sunglasses, swimwear, ID, power bank, and a sleeping bag if you prefer to bring one.
